Morning Mood

Morning Mood is a timeless melody that has become the quintessential soundtrack for the sunrise. It was written by Edvard Grieg for Henrik Ibsen’s, Peer Gynt.  The song moves in a waltzing 6/8 time signature which is the perfect vessel for the major pentatonic motifs. It explores the major tonalities of C major, E major and G major, while still staying connected to the home key of C. This arrangement has been transposed from its original key to the fit the 20 bells range, making use of the notes from C4 to E5.
